1. Data we collect
- Account data — your name, email address, role (student or teacher), and, for teachers, profile details such as headline, bio, language, and hourly rate.
- Booking data — lessons you book or teach, including times, notes, and status.
- Payment data — payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation and identifiers but not your full card number.
- Lesson content — chat messages, shared notes, whiteboard strokes, and files exchanged within a lesson room.
- Technical data — basic logs and cookies needed to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.
2. How we use your data
- To create and manage your account and provide the Service.
- To process bookings and payments and to issue refunds.
- To enable communication between students and teachers.
- To keep the Service secure and to comply with our legal obligations.
3. Video calls
Lessons use peer-to-peer (WebRTC) video. Audio and video streams are exchanged directly between participants and are not recorded or stored by Parlazo. Connection information may pass through third-party relay servers where a direct connection is not possible.
4. Service providers
We share data with the providers that run our Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), and Vercel (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
5. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. You can request deletion of your account at any time.
